Job Purpose Statement: 

 

The Instructional Coach is a critical lever in improving student achievement. The role of the coach is to build teacher capacity and their understanding of instructional practices, Common Core Standards, and data driven instruction to close the achievement gap for underrepresented students. The instructional coach fosters a culture of community, diversity, and inclusion, and support students and staff to address issues and opportunities of equity that impact student learning by developing teacher capacity and identifying curricular needs. The instructional coach models effective teaching practices and provide instructional coaching designed to support inclusive classroom environments; supports teachers in understanding the foundational components of a culturally responsive learning environment and integrating these principles into practice; develops sustainable practices that work to maintain high achievement for all students. The instructional coach is a learner who models continuous improvement, lifelong learning, and goes above and beyond to ensure student success. The instructional coach will promote reflection, provide guidance and structure where needed, and focus on strengths, collaboration and common issues of concern. The instructional coach will demonstrate and model a passion for education reform and leadership. This is NOT a supervisory position and DOES NOT include evaluation of colleagues.

Any offer of employment made by North Wasco County School District is contingent upon satisfactory results of: 

  1.
